Mill of Dess Lodge is located on the Lower Dess Estate in the heart of Royal Deeside, Aberdeenshire. Just a 45 minute drive from Aberdeen International Airport and 30 minutes away from the wild and stunning Cairngorms National Park.

Finished to the highest standards by well regarded Scottish designers, the bedrooms are separated into two accommodation wings. Each en-suite bedroom is individually designed and named after a pool on the adjacent Lower Dess fishing beat. 

The Lodge is perfect for groups looking for that special stay in a beautiful location.

I have stayed in many Scottish lodges (and country hotels in Scotland) over the years. Dess has to be the best thought out and most comfortable of them all. A triumph!

Gatherings

It’s the perfect Exclusive Use venue for friends & family gatherings, special celebrations, small weddings, outdoor sporting groups and fishing & shooting parties. There are 10 luxury en-suite double/twin bedrooms, comfortably accommodating up to 20 Guests. 
 
The Lodge is a beautifully refurbished farm steading, finished to a very high standard; the quality of the building is one of the first things guests will notice, together with the subtle decor, stunning beamed roof spaces and colourful artwork.

Luxury & Style

The large dining room and stylish sitting room both have wood burning stoves; there is plenty of space to socialise, unwind and relax. Outside, there’s a spacious garden with a seating area and firepit to enjoy special evenings out-of-doors.
 
The bedrooms have supremely comfortable beds with high quality duvets, pillows and bed linen; each room also has Sky TV and tea/coffee making facilities. In the en-suite bathrooms, guests will find luxury towels & bathrobes and a generous selection of Scottish-made bath products.
 
The Lodge has its own chef, waiting and housekeeping staff.  
 

Food

Mill of Dess Lodge has a private chef and waiting staff – so you will be very well looked after during your stay. Full Scottish Breakfast and a 3 course Dinner are included in the Exclusive Use price; the Lodge is a ‘bring your own’ establishment with regards to alcohol.
All our food is freshly prepared each day and we use top quality locally sourced & seasonal Aberdeenshire produce wherever possible.
Vegetarian and vegan menu options are readily available upon request. We can also offer buffet or barbeque style food for different occasions. 
 All the usual food intolerances and special dietary requirements can be easily catered for.

Explore

The beautiful River Dee is just along a short track from the Lodge, there are some excellent walks along the riverbank with plenty of wildlife and wild flowers to enjoy – especially during the Spring and Summer. In the colder months there is nothing better than returning to the cosy comfort of the Lodge after a day out exploring. 
 
Located in the hallway of the Lodge there is a large Boot Room for storing and drying outdoor clothing and kit. Fans of the great outdoors are well catered for locally with salmon fishing, walking, cycling and clay & target shooting on the doorstep.
